Tammie Taylor receives the 2017 IBSC Leadership Award

Mrs. Tammie Taylor of First National Bank in Summerville, SC, received the Independent Banks of South Carolina (IBSC) Leadership Award at the IBSC Convention on July 28, 2017, at The Omni Hotels & Resorts Amelia Island Plantation at Amelia Island, FL.

The IBSC Leadership Award recipient is nominated by peers in recognition of outstanding work in community banking. The honor is awarded annually on the basis of outstanding service to the independent banking industry and to the local community.

Mrs. Taylor has 25 years with First National Bank of South Carolina and is Vice President/Branch Manager and Mortgage Banking Officer. She assists customers from balancing DDA accounts, visiting an elderly care facility to take care of banking needs of patients, and processing secondary market mortgages.

Tammie is an active member of the Greater Summerville/Dorchester Chamber of Commerce and local merchant association, D.R.E.A.M. She also visits several of our Schools to discuss banking. She is also on the Board of Dorchester Habitat for Humanity serving as Secretary and has held the Office of Vice President. She is a Family Service Mentor, serves on the Board of A.R.K. an Alzheimers Advocate group and is her Home Owners Association President. She has volunteered with South Carolina Advocates for Epilepsy as a Board member and Trident United Way 211 Volunteer, which was a crisis hot line for distressed individuals.

In addition to her civic activities Tammie has found the time to train for many half marathons, marathons and also several iron man competitions, which she has successfully completed.

Tammie is married to Dan and they have 3 children Seth, Daniel and Chelsea. They are members of St. Lukes Lutheran Church where she currently is a Confirmation Youth Mentor, having previously served on the Church council as President.
