St. Thomas More at USC presenting Living Stations of the Cross

St. Thomas More Catholic Student Center at USC is presenting the Living Stations of the Cross on Wednesday, April 12, beginning at 6 p.m. on the Statehouse steps.

The annual procession, led by a student bearing a cross four days before Easter, is a chance for participants ― anyone who wishes to attend ― to reflect on the Passion of Christ and the afflictions that Jesus of Nazareth endured the day of the crucifixion.

“Have you ever been humiliated, betrayed, left in a dark place utterly alone? Here’s a time to look inside, into our own hearts, and think about what each of those 14 stops represent in our own lives,” says Raquel Martínez, St. Thomas More Campus Minister. “And to pray together.”

A narrator and musicians will accompany the 90-minute procession, beginning at the Statehouse, proceeding throughout campus and ending at the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral Cemetery across Sumter Street from the capitol.
