Palmetto Health statement on Sisters of Charity lawsuit

In August 2016, the Sisters of Charity of Cleveland, Ohio, the former owners of Providence Hospitals, filed a lawsuit against Palmetto Health related to the orthopedic physicians and their practice choosing to join Palmetto Health in 2015. At that time, Palmetto Health began vigorously defending the integrity of our organization and our people.
On Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, the Honorable Joseph F. Anderson, Jr., United States District Judge, dismissed the lawsuit. All Federal antitrust counts brought against Palmetto Health were dismissed in their entirety.
