Be more productive – Double your daily productivity
May 1, 2016By Jerry Bellune
Know anyone who wants to be less productive?
Me either. We want to make better use of our time.
We want more time for ourselves and our families.
Consultant Brad Bridges asks why are we so busy?
Why do we try to achieve so much?
Does this rob us of opportunities to help others?
Begin this week to do what matters most.
1. Your own weekly planning.
Start small by taking 5-10 minutes weekly.
Identify your top 2-3 big wins for the week.
Schedule time for each with its own priority.
2. Make yourself say “no” more often.
Consider what happens if you say yes.
Will it advance you toward your goals?
Will it only delay what you need to do?
3. Schedule 6-hour days.
Plan to work 8 hours but schedule only 6.
You are going to get two hours of:
• Distractions, interruptions and problems.
• Unexpected advantages and opportunities
4. Empower others to get things done.
Time spent teaching them will come back to you.
You build depth on your team and more time for you.
5. Do what inspires you.
Do what’s important to be more productive.
Higher productivity gives you greater satisfaction.
6. Do something to inspire others.
Lead by action and example, not words.
Act the way you want your people to act.
7. Make good choices and tough decisions.
Do the right thing. You’ll feel better about it.
It will inspire others to follow your example.
