26th Festival of Trees brings holiday magic to the Midlands Nov. 20-22

Proceeds benefit Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital

 

Palmetto Health Foundation’s 26th Festival of Trees will bring holiday magic and cheer to the Midlands Friday through Sunday, Nov. 20-22 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in the Vista. Festival of Trees features a silent auction, powered by mobile bidding, of decorated trees, wreaths, stockings, gifts, menorahs, dreidels and works of art created by patients at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital.

An exclusive, black-tie Festival of Trees Auction Preview will be held Friday, Nov. 20, 7-10 p.m. at the Convention Center. Guests will have an exclusive first opportunity to bid on items and be part of a live fund-a-need to support an inpatient Neurological Rehabilitation Program at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital. Reservations are $125 each and include cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Reservations may be made at FestivalofTreesColumbia.org. Valet parking will be available.

On Saturday and Sunday, the silent auction will continue, and families will enjoy holiday entertainment include local choirs, dance groups, photos with Santa, face painting and a magic show. The popular “Mascot Madness Parade” featuring area mascots will begin on Sunday at 1 p.m. A full entertainment schedule can be found at FestivalofTreesColumbia.org. Weekend hours are Saturday, Nov. 21, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 22, noon to 4 p.m. Weekend admission is $2 per person or $5 per family (up to four people). The silent auction will close on Sunday at 4 p.m. Weekend admission may be purchased in advance at FestivalofTreesColumbia.org.

On Wednesday, Nov. 18, the fans of Palmetto Health Foundation’s Facebook page will get a sneak peek and be invited to vote for their favorite item up for bid in the Festival of Trees silent auction in the “Frosty’s Facebook Award Contest.”

Last year, Festival of Trees raised more than $279,000, including in-kind donations, for Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital! Since 1988, proceeds from Festival of Trees have supported new and existing programs and services that benefit Children’s Hospital, where more than 80,000 children are treated each year.
