Charlotte Anti-Aging Expo & Symposium Supports Free Clinics
February 25, 2009Event Creator Takes the Lead in Helping Others during Economic Slump
CHARLOTTE, NC – February 24, 2009 – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg region certainly has not been immune to our country’s economic issues. In Mecklenburg County, the NC Free Clinic Association has seen their highest demand for services in over 10 years. Sally Gilbert, the creator of Charlotte’s premier health & wellness event, the Charlotte Anti-Aging Expo & Symposium, wants to do something about that.
We can all have a vibrant and healthy lifestyle. But that scenario is becoming increasingly difficult for residents right here in Charlotte and the surrounding region. I want to assist health service professionals who already volunteer so much of their time and talents in helping others get and stay healthy, Gilbert says.
With that, Gilbert has pledged a portion of each ticket sale from the Anti-Aging Expo & Symposium to be donated to the North Carolina Free Clinics, benefiting Mecklenburg County. April Cook, Executive Director of the Huntersville Free Clinic says, We can’t tell you how much we really appreciate you thinking of us. Any donation, as a result of the ticket sales, will certainly go a long way in helping the uninsured in our community.
The Charlotte Anti-Aging Expo & Symposium acts as a health consumer advocate. The expo connects individuals to health experts through experiencing products and services live, learning from world-class experts speak on the latest health topics, and providing the opportunity to talk one-on-one with health and wellness leaders. The event will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009, and features many local experts including Lake Norman Wellness Center, Carolina Healthspan Institute, and Carolinas Natural Health Centers, for example. In addition to many health products and services, there is a synergistic blend of M.D’s, D.O.’s and N.D’s, including nurse practitioners, nutritionists and physical therapists.
