Ronald Huffman Named Executive Director For LFS Carolinas SC Operations
May 29, 2008COLUMBIA, SC – May 29, 2008 – Lutheran Family Services in the Carolinas (LFS Carolinas) continues to grow and add capacity to its operations in South Carolina. To enhance effectiveness of its social ministry programs in that region, the agency has named Ronald Huffman executive director of its SC office in Columbia.
In this newly created role, Huffman will oversee day-to-day operations in the Columbia office and will lead LFS Carolinas in South Carolina. The executive director position will enhance LFS Carolinas engagement with congregations, peer organizations and the greater community and will provide additional structure and support for the services offered by LFS Carolinas to SC’s most vulnerable people.
We are looking forward to the change Ronald will bring to the SC community, said LFS Carolinas Executive Vice President and COO, John Burns. Ronald will be instrumental as we continue to grow, develop partnerships and relationships, and engage those we serve.
Huffman, who has been employed with the South Carolina Department of Social Services since 1997, will join LFS Carolinas in June 2008. In Huffman’s most recent role at the SC Department of Social Services he served as Human Services Director. In this capacity he managed the delivery of human services programs and was responsible for the establishment of goals and objectives, program planning and policy implementation.
Prior to joining the SC Department of Social Services, Huffman served as Director of Client Services for the Continuum of Care for Emotionally Disturbed Children, where he oversaw the day-to-day operations of 15 statewide offices as well as services for approximately 1,000 children suffering from emotional disturbance.
