Providence Hospitals Announce New Assistant Vice President of Nursing
August 16, 2007Columbia, SC – August 16, 2007 – Pamela Williams, RN, has been promoted to assistant vice president of nursing for Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals. In her new position, she will be responsible for the critical care areas within the hospital, including the mobile coronary care unit, intensive care unit, intermediate care unit, and emergency room. Williams will also advise bed control as well as admission and discharge nurses.
Williams has more than 20 years of experience in nursing, including pediatrics, critical care, emergency medicine, research and nursing leadership. She began working for Providence Hospital Northeast in 2000 as clinical educator and senior charge nurse. Prior to joining the Providence Hospitals staff, Williams served as the CEO for Rodger Medical-Legal Consulting and as a unit-based educator for The Regional Medical Center (TRMC) in Orangeburg.
Williams received her certificate in health care management from Lander University in Greenwood. She graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Huntington, West Virginia. In 2002, Williams received the Palmetto Gold award from the South Carolina Nurses Foundation for epitomizing excellence in her position.
Williams resides in northeast Columbia with her husband and their two boys, ages 9 and 11.
