Columbia Conference Center Celebrates Fourth Anniversary – Expands to 400 Parking Places to Accommodate Growth

August 4, 2007

Columbia, SC – July, 20, 2007 − Summer 2007 marks the fourth anniversary of the opening of Columbia Conference Center. Since its inception in 2003, the 40,000 square-foot facility has hosted 2,000 events.

Exceptional customer service is one of the center’s prime objectives. In an independent survey conducted by Research Associates, Columbia Conference Center (CCC) received 98% “good-outstanding” ratings from its customers since 2003.

Kim Inman, Vice President said, “When we began the center, the team agreed that we would provide only outstanding products and services. We also decided that our customers would be treated as part of our family. That may sound a little bit old fashioned, but it works! Most of our customers are good friends. Our computerized marketing analysis documented that over 65% of our business has been repeat or referrals by former customers! Our sales force is our customers.”

In order to accommodate the expanded business, the center recently invested $500,000 to build a new, two-acre paved parking lot which brings the free parking capacity to 400 places.

Mike DuBose, President of CCC reported, “Revenues for 2006 exceeded $1.3 million in event income and we ended the year substantially in the black. We anticipate a 10% increase in business in 2007. Most convention centers are not profitable – ever!” The center employs 30 staff members.
