SCRA announces new SC Launch Client Companies
May 22, 2018SCRA announced the recent acceptance of four Client Companies into its entrepreneurial program, SC Launch. Client Companies receive mentoring and support services and may also be eligible for grants, matching funds and investments.
Lowcountry Companies
Elongator Tailgates, located in Bluffton, has developed a tailgate system with an integrated, folding extension that replaces factory tailgates. The patented product locks in two positions to either extend the standard cargo bed or to provide adjustable loading ramps that can accommodate anything from motorcycles to all-terrain vehicles and lawn equipment. The product successfully debuted in 2017 at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) industry trade show in Las Vegas.
Med-Ally is located in the Charleston International Manufacturing Center in Goose Creek. The company manufactures solutions for the medical device market. Their platform technology, VersaStim, is an implantable pulse generator system that provides an alternative to drug therapy for chronic pain. The product is distributed internationally and the company is developing additional devices to introduce to the market.
Upstate Companies
Microhortone is developing cutting-edge microwave techniques that can be used by brewers, distillers, biopharmaceuticals companies and biofuel producers. The online cell monitoring technology improves product quality and yield. The company, located in Central, South Carolina, is commercializing the results of research conducted at Clemson University.
tForm, Inc. is an advanced manufacturing company that has created a novel software solution to address the need for custom packaging solutions for consumer, medical and industrial goods. The company’s patent pending technology employs revolutionary software, advanced CAD and 3D modeling capability, proprietary mold designs and lean manufacturing techniques to deliver optimized packaging solutions while significantly reducing lead times.
