Kara Grossman and Ashley Whisenant join GMK Interiors team

GMK announced that Kara Grossman has joined GMK’s interiors division as an interior designer and Ashley Whisenant has joined as a procurement coordinator. In these roles, Ms. Grossman will support design teams on both hospitality and senior living projects, and Ms. Whisenant will be responsible for procuring all furnishings from initial purchase order development through delivery and final installation on a variety of interiors projects.

Ms. Grossman is a recent magna cum laude graduate of the University of Akron with a bachelor of arts degree in interior design and is a member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). Prior to joining GMK, Ms. Grossman had been serving as an interior design intern at Scarboro Designs located in Tampa, FL, where she assisted in the planning, budgeting, selection of materials, and other elements of interior designs, primarily for high-end residential clients. Her design portfolio demonstrates her passion for design and the ability to bring innovation and insight to create unique interior environments. Ms. Grossman further brings skills in teamwork and collaboration that augment her abilities in various design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, among others).

Ms. Whisenant brings close to 5 years of experience as a supply chain professional, with specific expertise in product development, inventory purchasing, vendor negotiations, customer relations, and overall supply chain management. Prior to joining GMK, Ms. Whisenant previously served as a merchandising assistant and an import and planning specialist for a firm focused on textile products for the rental, healthcare, retail, and hospitality markets. She holds a bachelor of science degree in retail management from the University of South Carolina and is a current member of the Aiken Young Professionals.
