Presents $5,000 Scholarship to Culinary Institute

 

CHARLESTON, SC – The Dean of The Culinary Institute of Charleston, Trident Technical College, J. Michael Saboe, was presented with a $5,000 check from the Cooper River Bridge Run by Race Director Julian Smith this week.

The Culinary Institute was instrumental in providing culinary students to staff and prepare food for the “Taste of the Bridge Run” pasta dinner event held the Friday evening before the Race from 5 – 8 p.m.

Each year more than 8,000 Bridge Run competitors and families take part in the annual pre-race dining event held in three area locations: downtown Charleston at the Maritime Center, Mt. Pleasant at Harbor Side East; and North Charleston at the North Charleston Coliseum.

“We couldn’t do it without them,” said Smith. “The students bring so much professionalism and skill to our event. We are proud to donate to their respective scholarship funds.”
