Gov. Nikki Haley designates September as “Voter Education Month”

Encourages  all  eligible  South  Carolinians  to  register  to  vote and to  exercise  their  most  basic  democratic  right  by  participating  in  all  elections
 
COLUMBIA, SC – September 10, 2012 – Governor Nikki Haley has designatedSeptember 2012 as “Voter Education Month” across South Carolina.

Ina gubernatorial proclamation, Gov. Haley encourages “all  eligible  South  Carolinians  to  register  to  vote,  to  educate  themselves  regarding  the  candidates  and  questions,  and  to  exercise  their  most  basic  democratic  right  by  participating  in  all  elections.”

South Carolina’s State Election Commission last week launched amonth-long effort to register South Carolinians to vote, or have themupdate voter registration information if they are already registered,before the October 6 voter registration deadline.
