Womble Carlyle’s Jim Myrick to Join South Carolina Commission on Legal Education and Specialization
March 12, 2012CHARLESTON, SC – March 12, 2012 – The Supreme Court of South Carolina has appointed Womble Carlyle attorney Jim Myrick to serve on the state’s Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization.
The Commission on CLE & Specialization is the regulatory agency of the Supreme Court of South Carolina which administers the state’s Mandatory Continuing Legal Education program and accredits all CLE (continuing legal education) programming. South Carolina attorneys must complete a certain amount of continuing education credit hours in order to comply with the requirements. The program has been in place since 1982.
Myrick’s term on the Commission runs through 2015.
Jim Myrick has more than 20 years of experience representing clients in a wide range of complex litigation fields, including personal injury (defense and plaintiff), commercial disputes, products liability and environmental permits. Jim is a South Carolina-certified arbitrator and mediator. He has also argued several appeals before the South Carolina Supreme Court and the South Carolina Court of Appeals. He practices in Womble Carlyle’s Charleston office.
