Ramsey Joins South Carolina Ports

CHARLESTON, SC – August 1, 2011 – The South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) has hired Kara Ramsey as Manager of Cargo Sales for the organization, which owns and operates ports in Charleston and Georgetown.

Ms. Ramsey will develop cargo accounts through the recruitment of long-term port users to the state, focusing on distribution centers and manufacturing operations. She reports to Jack Ellenberg, Vice President, Cargo Sales.

Before joining the SCPA, Ms. Ramsey was Director of Marketing and Communications at the South Carolina Department of Commerce, where she assisted with major deals such as Boeing, ZF and Amazon.

She earned a bachelors degree in business and political science from the College of Charleston.
