SCRA Employees Donate Over 1,000 Pounds of Food

November 23, 2010

CHARLESTON, SC – November 23, 2010 –SCRA employees have completed another “Flash Drive,” gathering over 1,000 pounds of food donations, for organizations near the company’s operating localities across South Carolina.

SCRA employees complete several “Flash Drives” throughout the year. Employees bring in items for donation and the company delivers substantial assistance to various charity organizations with no prior notice. Previous Flash Drives have included school supply donations, toys, and clothing items.

Recipient organizations for the donations were the Food Bank of Greenwood County, East Cooper Meals on Wheels in Charleston, Harvest Hope Food Bank in Columbia, and Anderson Interfaith Ministries in Anderson.

“The generosity of our associates is overwhelming,” said SCRA CEO Bill Mahoney. “The employees had set a goal of donating 750 pounds of food, and once again they have far exceeded the goal by donating over 1,000 pounds. We are committed to our local communities and improving South Carolina, and hope that our Flash Drives will have meaningful impact for families across the state.”
