Graham Announces Over $1.4 Million in Law Enforcement Grants for South Carolina

CHARLESTON, SC & WASHINGTON, DC – August 19, 2010 – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) announced that South Carolina will receive more than $1.4 million in federal grants through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG). 

These funds can be used for programs focusing on law enforcement; prosecution and courts; prevention and education; corrections and community corrections; drug treatment; planning, evaluation, and technology improvement; and crime victims and witnesses.

The awards include:

  • $240,029 for the City of North Charleston
  • $235,051 for Greenville County
  • $230,631 for Richland County
  • $133,182 for Horry County
  • $130,213 for the City of Columbia
  • $64,219 for Berkeley County
  • $63,801 for York County
  • $42,221 for Orangeburg County
  • $33,310 for the City of Greenwood
  • $28,333 for Dillon County
  • $26,488 for Oconee County
  • $25,653 for Georgetown County
  • $24,783 for Pickens County
  • $22,555 for the City of Hartsville
  • $22,346 for Clarendon County
  • $15,663 for the City of Darlington
  • $15,663 for the Town of Summerville
  • $13,331 for the City of Simpsonville
  • $12,426 for the City of Marion
  • $12,182 for the City of Clinton
  • $11,069 for Abbeville County
  • $10,164 for the City of Camden 

All grants were awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice.
