New Level Strategies to offer public relations and media consulting

COLUMBIA, SC – August 27, 2009 – Former gubernatorial communications director Joel Sawyer today officially announced the founding of his new communications consulting firm, New Level Strategies, LLC.

Sawyer’s firm will offer a range of services centered around public relations and communications consulting, including media strategy, message development, crisis communications, and media training, for corporate, public policy and advocacy, and political clients.

“In today’s fast-paced world, message delivery for organizations, policy initiatives and candidates has to be clear, consistent and concise. The guiding principle of my new company is giving clients an unparalleled level of personalized service, expertise, and the tools they need to tell their story and advance their branding,” Sawyer said.

New Level Strategies’ Web site – www.newlevelstrategies.com – will be launched early next week.

Sawyer, 32, served in South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford’s administration from January of 2003 through August 5, 2009, first as speechwriter, then as press secretary and finally as communications director. Prior to that, Sawyer was a reporter at the Spartanburg Herald-Journal. Sawyer is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he also wrote for two student publications.
