Verizon Statement on Senate Approval of FCC Nominations

July 25, 2009

WASHINGTON, DC – July 24, 2009 – The Senate approved two of President Obama’s nominations to the Federal Communications Commission today, providing the agency with its full complement of five commissioners.  The following is a statement by Kathleen Grillo, Verizon senior vice president for federal regulatory affairs:

Today’s Senate confirmation of Mignon Clyburn and Meredith Baker is good news.  At this crucial time for broadband investment, jobs and the economy, we need a full team in place at the FCC. President Obama chose nominees with the right background and experience, and we know they will hit the ground running to deal with these important challenges.
