Bad Roads Tour to focus on child safety Oct. 8th

October 7, 2014

Wednesday, October 8, at 7:45 a.m. ~

What: Members of the Citizens for a Better Greenville County will be showing Greenville residents and leaders some of the worst roads, intersections, and bridges in the county in an effort to further illustrate the need for infrastructure repair.

When: Wednesday, October 8, at 7:45 a.m.

Where: Holmes Park, 111 Holmes Drive, Greenville

Who: Parents of school children and community leaders

Why: Only ten out of 51 schools in Greenville County have adequate sidewalk systems that allow children to safely walk to school each day. There are close to 100 sidewalk projects on the November Roads referendum with many of them near schools. Walking to school enables children to incorporate the regular physical activity they need each day while also forming healthy habits that can last a lifetime. In addition, it puts fewer vehicles on the road and promotes safety habits. Learn more at bettergreenvilleroads.com.
