Cason Development Group Redeveloping Lexington Property

COLUMBIA, SC – Cason Development Group announces the purchase and redevelopment of 5315 Sunset Boulevard, Lexington, S.C.

The 4,550-square-foot, free-standing building is located along the busy U.S. 378 corridor across from a planned retail development that is expected to be anchored by a high-end grocery store. Leasing for 5315 Sunset, which includes surface parking on the half-acre lot, is being handled by J.P. Scurry and Scottie Smith of Colliers International in Columbia.

Total investment in the redevelopment project is expected to be just under $1 million, including the building’s $600,000 purchase price, said Frank Cason, owner of Columbia-based Cason Development Group.

Cason said the location on the U.S.378 retail corridor which has an extremely low 2-3% vacancy rate, made the building very attractive. “If you drive between the Target and downtown Lexington there is hardly any available retail space,” Cason said. “It’s a good building in a great location.” Cason is expecting additional retail investment to spur more redevelopment along the corridor.
