CBRE’s Marie Dieckmann among Women of Influence

July 19, 2017

CBRE is proud to announce that Marie Dieckmann, Advisory & Transaction Services Associate, has been recognized as one of Columbia Regional Business Report’s “Women of Influence” for 2017. Dieckmann is one of 11 women recognized in the Midlands making an impact in their careers in the business, government or nonprofit sectors. The final selections were made by a panel of judges including last year’s honorees and Business Report staff.

Dieckmann was selected for her career achievements and community contributions. From CBRE’s downtown Columbia, South Carolina, location, she provides innovative solutions for owners and occupiers in the leasing, purchase and sales of office properties in the Greater Midlands area. In the past 24 months, Dieckmann and her team participated in more than 200 transactions totaling over 1.1 million square feet.

“We encourage all of our people to live and grow in the communities where they work,” said Steve Smith, Managing Director of CBRE’s South Carolina offices. “Marie has built a strong reputation for excellence both professionally and through her philanthropic involvement in the community.”

Among many of the nonprofit organizations Dieckmann is involved with, she most recently served as the President of the Board of Directors for Palmetto Place Children’s Shelter. During her presidency, the shelter underwent a $1 million capital campaign to renovate the existing shelter and acquire a second location. She also serves on the planning committee for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation South Carolina Chapter’s annual Carolina Kick Off for a Cure event and is on the Board of Directors for the CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Midlands Chapter. She and her husband are active members at St. Andrews Baptist Church.

Dieckmann is a graduate of Leadership Columbia Class of 2014 and is the Columbia field delegate for CBRE’s Women’s Network. The Women’s Network promotes the success of women at CBRE and provides a foundation to enhance careers through growth, connection and membership.

“It’s an honor to be named one of the “Women of Influence” among a group of very impressive and deserving recipients. I’ve truly enjoyed growing my family, career and community involvement in Columbia, and I’m excited about the opportunity to be a part of our city’s promising future,” said Dieckmann.
