Create More Memorable Experiences
June 12, 2017By Jerry Bellune
Howard Schultz experienced an epiphany.
He was enchanted by European coffee houses.
Why couldn’t Starbucks copy that in America?
Lowe’s Foods is an expansion of that epiphany.
Marketing Director Kelly Davis gave us a tour.
What we saw was amazing and exciting.
They had taken the best ideas from their competition.
On top of that, they created new concepts.
What resulted is a memorable shopping experience.
Here is a taste what you’ll find at Lowe’s Foods:
• Inside the door are local produce and products,
Lowe’s invites local farmers and others to sell here.
• At Pick & Prep they slice produce as you want it.
• All around the store are tasting stations to sample.
• At the Sausage Works guess what’s on display?
Southerners crowded the counter there.
• Next is the Smokehouse. We were in time for ribs.
Yuuum! You can get them rubbed and/or with sauce.
At the Community Table are local vendors.
Local chefs teach you their cooking secrets.
Local farmers, wineries, and businesses give samples.
The table is salvaged from old barn timbers.
• Two bakeries supply cakes, pies, and breads.
• The Chicken Kitchen has it grilled, fried, and roasted.
• The Beer Den has beer, of course, and wine.
• The Deli will bake you a pizza to go with it.
There’s a dining area to sit and enjoy both.
And there’s a coffee bar for those just waking up.
Unlike Walmart, employees are everywhere.
They are well trained and can answer all questions.
This suggests three critical questions:
1. How well are your employees/contractors trained?
2. Do they enjoy their work and helping your clients?
3. Would you work or shop here if you weren’t the boss?
