Gauracandra Nimai Garrett selected as Best and Brightest

Allen University announced that Gauracandra Nimai Garrett, Director of Alumni Affairs for Allen University, will be recognized by Columbia Business Monthly in their 2017 “Best & Brightest 35 and Under” awards. The Best & Brightest nominees were judged by the impact they have made in their workplace and in the community.

Mr. Garrett is responsible for managing all aspects of alumni engagement, and assisting in fundraising and development, marketing, volunteer development and coordination, and special events planning and implementation for Allen University. Nimai is also a Co-Owner of the Florence Wildcats Semi-Pro Basketball Team where he serves as the Director of Community and Public Relations. Mr. Garrett is a graduate of Webster University (Columbia, SC), where he received a Master of Business Administration in 2009, and Allen University, where he received with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Social Science in 2007.

Currently he serves on the Talented Tenth’s Board of Directors, as Director of Marketing, the South Carolina Alumni and Advancement Directors Board, and is Chapter President of the Webster University Alumni Association – Columbia, SC campus. He is also a volunteer at the South Carolina Diaper Bank.

Mr. Garrett is a proud member of the International Brotherhood known as Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, and Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Sciences.
