Columbia Metropolitan Airport celebrates International Yoga Day with free event – June 21

Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) is hosting a free yoga event in celebration of International Yoga Day – Friday, June 21st from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The event will celebrate the importance of self-care through various yoga practices, as well as serve as a lesson in stress-relieving seated poses individuals can do on a flight. Travel can be stressful – practicing meditation and incorporating various yoga poses into your routine can make for a more enjoyable and calmer travel experience.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to host this fun event for our community,” said CAE Director of Marketing and Air Service Development, Kim Jamieson. “We know that travel can sometimes be stressful so we’re looking forward to sharing some tips and techniques to calm your nerves while traveling. We also are always excited for the opportunity to say thank you to the community for supporting CAE.”

Five 45-minute classes will be offered and will be limited to 25 participants per session. Classes will be taught by local instructors and will be held in the terminal – overlooking the runway. (Parking will be free for all attendees).

Classes will be offered on the hour starting at 10 a.m. with the last class starting at 2 p.m. Participants must register prior to the event at Event Brite link.
