Taylor Jackson named South Carolina Council on Competitiveness’ Deputy Director of SC Logistics

Taylor Jackson has joined the South Carolina Council on Competitiveness as the Deputy Director of SC Logistics. Taylor brings logistics expertise to the Council after having served as an Account Manager for Kuehne + Nagel, where she managed global accounts in the Southeast territory. As the Deputy Director of SC Logistics, Taylor Jackson will support the efforts of the Council’s logistics initiative alongside Suzanne Dickerson, Director of SC Logistics.

“Taylor will be such a great asset to our team,” said Suzanne. “Her broad range of experience and knowledge of logistics will provide essential support to the industry as well as fuel our efforts to maintain a fruitful environment for logistics in South Carolina.”

Prior to her work at Kuehne + Nagel, Taylor began her maritime career in 2014 as a Rates Analyst at John S. James Company, soon transitioning to an Export Administrator.

Susie Shannon, President and CEO of the South Carolina Council on Competitiveness, said that Taylor is a welcome addition to the team noting that the rapid growth in the logistics industry across the state and the onboarding of new initiatives within the Council made it an ideal time to add a Deputy Director to the SC Logistics.

“The Council team and I are thrilled to have Taylor on board,” said Susie. “With a busy year ahead of us and new projects on the horizon, Taylor brings the level of talent and experience we need to help SC Logistics continue to flourish.”

Dave Edwards,  President and CEO of the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport and chair of the SC Logistics Executive Forum echoed that sentiment saying, “We’re glad to have Taylor onboard to work alongside Suzanne and help drive forward our mission to support the logistics industry across the state.”

Taylor will be based in the Charleston area but will maintain SC Logistics’ mission to address the needs of logistics companies across the state.  “I am so excited for the opportunity to be a part of helping to make South Carolina’s logistics industry successful,” said Taylor. “I can’t wait to get started.”

Taylor received her Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a Biology Minor from Clemson University.  She is actively involved with various organizations including Charleston Women in International Trade where she serves as Scholarships & Awards Chair and the Charleston Customs Brokers & Freight Forwarders Association where she is Vice President and Social Chair. Taylor is also Co-Chair of the Waterfront Collective in Charleston, SC, and in 2019 she won Young Leader of the Year for National Transportation Week (NTW).
