Turn up the volume as local performers take stage in musical showcase

August 22, 2019

After getting a fill of “American Idol” auditions in Columbia, South Carolina, join us for an afternoon of music, highlighting the talents of local residents. Richland Library is hosting Ara-V’s Musical Showcase from 3:30 – 5 p.m., Saturday, August 31 at our Main location (1431 Assembly Street). The event is free and open to the public.

Over the summer, Richland Library’s Artist-in-Residence (AiR), Ara-Viktoria McKinney (Ara-V), has been working with some talented vocalists and musicians. These children, teens and adults are ready to take the stage and show off what they’ve learned through mini vocal lessons and songwriting workshops.

The musical tribute celebrates the end of Ara-V’s residency, which officially wraps up Friday, September 6. To learn more about Ara-V, visit richlandlibrary.com.

Initially developed in September 2016, the concept behind Richland Library’s artist-in-residence is to connect the community with local, working artists and to provide creative and educational opportunities to local residents in a way that supports cultural and artistic exchange.
