Angels Charge Ministry announces Law & Order Spartanburg: Doing Justice to Your Taste Buds

This tapas style luncheon features an Elite Task Force of Chefs; Sheriff Deputies, Public Safety Officers, Lawyers, School Disciplinarian and Security Officers who will join forces, don Chef Hats and Jacket to mount an assault on recidivism. This event will be in memory of Ms. Emma Taylor, the officer that lost her life serving her community. She cared and provided safety for our children and gave her life for others. We honor her by celebrating her life at Law & Order: Spartanburg.

Sergeant John Parris, a faithful law enforcement officer in Spartanburg will be one of our featured chefs representing Law & Order: Dallas with delicious pulled pork BBQ. Officer Parris feels that our community is in partnership with law enforcement, having mutual respect and honor for each other. He views people as being good until shown otherwise. Officer Parris stated that as residents of our community we need to put ourselves in the victims’ shoes in order to get law & order. We are asking our community to come out and meet these chefs and share a wonderful meal prepared by Spartanburg’s Finest.

Law enforcement is extending their arms in support of the good service being provided for women aspiring to turn their lives around for the betterment of themselves and our community. Statistical data has shown that women receive fewer services than men as they reenter society after release from any form of incarceration. Angels Charge Ministry is a program that is changing the way justice is leveled especially for women and their families. Chaplain Ken Apple of the Spartanburg County Detention Center will be our keynote speaker. Chaplain Apple is passionate about breaking the cycle of female incarceration and recidivism. He believes that Faith is one of the most important components necessary to break this cycle.

The mission of Angels Charge Ministry is to offer a transitional housing program, case management and advocacy to deter recidivism and to facilitate a healthy and productive reentry into our community for women during and after incarceration. We are making a difference in our community and State by Helping Women Transition from Incarceration to Success!

Our philosophy is that we believe all women have the potential and right to live satisfying, productive lives. Women who have been incarcerated are often defined solely by their criminal histories. We believe that women who have made poor choices should not forever be limited by the mistakes. We are making a difference because Spartanburg moved from number one to number two in the state for female recidivism. We can continue to make a change and a difference as YOU continue support us with your time, talent and resources. Since opening in 2014 we have served more than one hundred women and 88% have not returned to incarceration. You can help us to continue improve the success rate of women as they reenter our community. Let’s do more because we can do more! These women deserve more support!
