Local support group offers parents better grasp on Individualized Education Program (IEP)

Parents, Richland Library is offering a thorough introduction to the Individualized Education Program (IEP), which serves as a road map for education services. Join us for Parent-to-Parent Support Group: Individualized Education Program 101 from 6 – 7 p.m., Thursday, September 26 at our Main location (1431 Assembly Street). The program is free and open to the public.

The goal is to gain a better understanding of:

  • steps of the special education process and key terms
  • roles of all IEP team members
  • contents of the IEP and what they mean
  • ways to become a knowledgeable and active participant in meetings

This program is presented in partnership with Family Connection of South Carolina.
