The doors remain closed, but the Relic Room keeps programs going

With Gov. Henry McMaster’s latest order the South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum will be closed at least until Memorial Day – but we’ve still got a lot going on for history buffs in the Palmetto State!
For instance: Ever since the first of April, on Wednesdays and Fridays, Curator of Education Joe Long has used 21st-century technology to take our military past into homes across the state – while maintaining proper social distance!
And there’s so much more! You may be familiar with our monthly Lunch and Learn sessions. Last week, Al Billings, a pilot in the U.S. Navy’s Seawolf Detachment helicopter squadron, discussed his heroic adventures during the Vietnam War via Zoom. Watch for more such programs!
