Join Richland Library as we feature a James Beard Award winner and renowned chef during Let’s Talk Race: A Conversation with Culinary Historian Michael Twitty from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., Thursday, November 12. Twitty plans to discuss his award-winning book The Cooking Gene: A Journey through African American Culinary History in the Old South and offer his fresh perspective on race, southern cuisine and the cultural significance of soul food with local Gullah cultural bearer and chef “BJ” Dennis.
