2021 Kayak Bass Fishing Trail series takes to Lake Murray this weekend

Experience Columbia SC Sports is excited to welcome the Realtree Fishing KBF TRAIL Series presented by DEE ZEE this weekend, Feb. 27 and 28, on Lake Murray. The weekend consists of two single day tournaments with a Catch-Photo-Release format.
“We are so excited to finally welcome the Kayak Bass Fishing Trail Series to Lake Murray and Columbia, SC,” said ECSC Sports Executive Director Scott Powers. “This event is the culmination of a two-year process including bidding and planning, but all of that hard work has finally paid off.”
Participating anglers earn points toward the KBF Angler of the Year or KBF Rookie of the Year presented by Rogue Fishing titles, can work toward 2021 KBF Trail Series Championship Qualification, have the option to participate in the KBF Challenge Series presented by FishUSA and also have the chance to qualify for the 2022 Kayak Bass Fishing National Championship.
The tournament schedule is rounded out with additional events including:
- Fri., Feb. 26 (6 p.m.): KBF Captain’s Meeting at Liberty on the Lake
- Sat., Feb. 27 (5 p.m.): KBF Awards Presentation at Steel Hands Brewing
- Sun., Feb. 28 (5 p.m.): KBF Awards Presentation at Steel Hands Brewing
- Mon., March 1 – Thurs., March 4: KBF TV show taping around Columbia, SC
- Wed., March 3: KBF Meet & Greet at Schooner’s Bar & Grill Lake Murray
“This is a unique opportunity in that not only are we hosting two one-day fishing tournaments involving 175 anglers, but we have also partnered with Chad and Kristie from KBF to shoot footage in and around the entire Columbia region that will air around the world through their impressive social media platforms,” said Powers. “We’re excited to have this opportunity to show off several of our hospitality partners who will be featured on those shows throughout this experience.”
