Clinton Jr. Tennis Members Participate in Jackson DeMere Memorial Tournament
May 10, 2021Members of the Clinton Jr. Tennis Program participated in the Jackson DeMere Memorial Tournament this weekend with some great results and all-around good playing on the court.
MC Dailey was the finalist in the girls 18U division and the 18U doubles champion with Maggie LeCroy. Chandler Dailey and Erin Donley both won their girls consolation semifinals then played each other in the finals. Chandler won the division back draw, and Erin was the finalist. Chandler and Erin also played doubles together, finishing in second place in the division. Kimora Wesley and Maggie LeCroy finished their girls 16U round robin today. Maggie finished in second place, and Kimora was third. Libby Dailey competed in the girls 12U division and had some competitive matches.
Connor Donley clinched the boys 18U division with a win in the finals at 6-3, 6-4. Anders Orr lost his boys 16U consolation semifinal in a tiebreaker. Nathan Meade and Edwin Orr also lost in the boys 14U consolation semifinals but won the boys 14U doubles division.
The tournament was a great event put on in memory of Jackson DeMere, who passed away tragically in an automobile accident. He played tennis at the Pavilion, where the tournament was held.
