Rebuild Upstate hires new Development Specialist

October 4, 2021

Rebuild Upstate has brought on Rose Davis to be its new Development Specialist.

In 2017, Davis graduated from Clemson University with a degree in communications and nonprofit leadership. Following graduation, Davis served nearly five years as the Resource Development Manager at Pickens County Habitat for Humanity. As Resource Development manager, Davis was the fundraiser, volunteer coordinator and communications specialist on staff.

“I wore many hats,” said Davis. “That position helped to prepare me for my role as Development Specialist at Rebuild Upstate because I learned the many creative ways to conduct outreach in the community as well as secure gifts to further the mission of serving low-income populations.”

In her time with Habitat for Humanity, Davis was awarded the James Malcolm Geddes Memorial Award for Excellence in Civic Leadership given by Clemson University. She is certified in Volunteer Engagement by Habitat for Humanity, and certified in Leadership by Clemson.

“We are very excited to bring Rose onto our team,” said Chris Manley, Rebuild Upstate’s founder and President/CEO. “Resources are critical to addressing affordable housing challenges in our community and Rose will play a big part in helping us make that happen.”

Rebuild Upstate helps low-income homeowners with home repairs and accessibility improvements to create safe, livable housing in existing homes and neighborhoods. Home repairs can range from small plumbing fixes to roof and floor replacements. Accessibility improvements range from installing grab bars and railings for vulnerable populations to building wheelchair ramps for those with disabilities.
