Richland One announces Scholastic Art Southeastern Regional Award winners

Ten Richland One students received 2022 Scholastic Art Southeastern Regional Awards and two earned honorable mentions. Dreher High School senior Layla Davis and junior Leo Suggs were named Golden Key Award winners and will advance to the national level. The winners for nationals will be announced on March 23.
Silver Key Award winners include Dreher seniors Gayle Boyd, Layla Davis, Lia Kilpatrick and Beth Walker; junior Muireall Dickson; and sophomore Juliet Jones. Silver Key Award winners from A.C. Flora High School include senior Dorian Britt (three individual awards) and junior Jessy Gross.
Honorable mentions include Dreher senior Julia Gonzalez-Del-Valle and A.C. Flora senior Abigail Brice.
The students were among hundreds from throughout the Southeast who submitted work last December to the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers. Their work was selected based on originality, technical skill and authenticity. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards recognition has become the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious initiative for young artists and writers.
