Under the general direction of the Director of Campus Recreation, the Assistant Director, Intramurals, Sports Clubs and Camps leads the management of the Intramural program and administration and supervision of the Sports Club Program. The Assistant Director will function on the management team of the overall Campus Recreation program. Specific oversight of the Intramural Program, including scheduling, supervising and evaluation of all intramural contests. This position also serves as the director of the Summer Camp Program with specific oversight of promotion, registration and communication of camp materials and hiring, training and evaluation of camp counselors.
• Plans, implements, coordinates and administers a comprehensive Intramural Program which helps build a sense of community and increases retention for the university while giving special attention to activities to the residential population. Providing customer friendly service is essential; responsible for establishing an upbeat and positive workforce oriented towards service to a wide variety of competitive and recreational users.
• Responsible for the coordination, administration and supervision of the USC Upstate Sparty’s Kids Camp Program.
• Hiring, training, scheduling, supervising and evaluation of all officials and IM supervisors.
• Responsible for the coordination, administration and supervision of the USC Upstate Sport Club Program.
• Responsible in assisting with Campus Recreation facility operations which includes supervision of cleanliness and sanitation. Also responsible for the supervision of recreational spaces during Intramural play to ensure proper safety and maintenance are in place. Works collaboratively with other campus stakeholders to fulfill the mission of Student Affairs including, but not limited to, some event management duties.
• Assist with the coordination and support of various Student Affairs functions.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Student Services or related field, or bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience. Certification in First Aid upon 3 months of hire date. Requires valid driver’s license and good driving record. Successful background check is required.
This position will require additional evening duties and occasional weekend work. Some travel may be necessary with student groups. The general hours for this position are Monday- Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer experience in sports administration.
Salary:
$35,568 – $40,000; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
