Smoked’s bartender wins national title

July 25, 2022

Smoked is thrilled to announce that Jess Pomerantz, one of our fabulous bartenders, won the national title for Speed Rack last night in New Orleans.

Speed Rack is an exclusively woman high-speed bartending competition designed to highlight up-and-coming self-identifying females in the cocktail industry and give back to those impacted by breast cancer. As always, the competition in Speed Rack Season 9 promises to be fierce, but so does the fundraising. To date, Speed Rack has raised over $1,000,000 for charities supporting breast cancer research.

The competition was held in New Orleans on Sunday, July 24, from 3-7 p.m. in conjunction with Tales of the Cocktail. Inviting the Top 18 finalists from the Charleston, SC regionals; Puerto Rico Cocktail Week Regionals; and Speed Rack Redemption Round to go head-to-head in a round-robin style competition.

Jess has won multiple competitions for bartending, and we are especially proud of her for this win. You can find Jess behind the bar at Smoked on Main Street or working on her PhD in Psychology.
