The Institute for Child Success hires policy director

The Institute for Child Success (ICS), an early childhood, nonprofit organization that uses applied policy and research to improve the outcomes of young children and their families, has brought on Deborah DePaoli to lead its policy efforts.
As policy director, Deborah DePaoli will boost ICS’s direct family engagement in South Carolina to inform SC-related policy and research portfolio. She will also take a leading role in advancing the state’s Early Childhood Common Agenda work and other SC-specific policy initiatives.
Deborah has decades of experience in public education and advocacy work. Previously, she was the SC State Manager for Save the Children Action Network, and she worked with the state office of South Carolina First Steps as a Regional Coordinator. Deborah also worked as an administrator in a public school four-year-old kindergarten program in Richland County, SC, and worked in California with migrant laborers and their families to advance student achievement and child wellbeing.
Deborah obtained a teaching certificate at Cal State San Marcos and earned a master’s degree in administration and leadership from Southern Wesleyan University. She is based out of Columbia, SC.
