LCSO Jail & Bail Set for May 19
April 19, 2023The annual Laurens County Sheriff’s Office Jail and Bail fundraiser is set for Friday, May 19.
Now in its fifth year, all proceeds from the fundraiser goes to support their Christmas for Kids program. Last year’s event raised over $18,000 and in 2021 the event brought in over $18,000 and prior to that the total ranged from $10,000-$15,000.
So how does “Jail and Bail” work?
Participants set a goal “bail” for themselves, minimum of $100. You can start raising your bail donation money at any point leading up to the event. If you make your bail, you avoid going to “jail” the day of the event. Yes, you can still stop by for your “mugshot” picture! If you don’t make your bail ahead of time, then you can attempt to meet your goal by calling friends and family members to secure pledges on site. You choose which time of day works best for you and drop in…we can even make arrangements for a deputy to pick you up!
They have some great “inmates” sign up to participate but there is always room for more. Sign up and start raising your bail or better yet, ask your boss or a community leader to go to jail for the kids.
To sign yourself up, or a coworker/family member/friend, contact Deputy Snow for more information. (864-681-4509)
See you on the May 19 to free the inmates and raise funds for the Christmas for Kids program. It’s a win-win for everyone.
