| The Charleston Metro Chamber is pleased to announce Attainable Housing Week 2023, a series of local events in the Charleston region from April 24-28. April is National Fair Housing Month and the Regional Housing Coalition, a grassroots effort created by the Chamber to elevate the awareness of attainable housing needs throughout the region, is hosting Attainable Housing Week to bring awareness to the housing needs and solutions in the region.
The week will consist of a range of events designed to engage the community in discussions and initiatives to address the housing needs in our region. The events will include informative sessions, workshops and networking opportunities with housing experts, community leaders and local residents.
The week’s events include:
- Setting the Foundation: Hear from elected officials on how the community can make a difference in combating the housing crisis.
- Monday, April 24, 10 – 11:30 a.m. at the Charleston Metro Chamber Boardroom
- Attainable Housing 101: Financing: Expert speakers will discuss financing options available for attainable housing.
- Tuesday, April 25, 10 – 11:30 a.m. at The Opportunity Center
- Diversity Dialogue: A virtual discussion about the current housing market and the Chamber’s efforts to promote housing accessibility.
- Wednesday, April 26, 1 – 2 p.m., Virtual
- Housing Happy Hour & Resource Fair: Learn about housing programs and services while enjoying a cocktail at Firefly Distillery.
- Wednesday, April 26, 4 – 6 p.m. at Firefly Distillery
- Framework to the Future: Industry professionals, developers and community advocates will discuss innovation and the impact of workforce housing on the economy and social equity in the region.
- Thursday, April 27, 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Bermuda Pointe Towns
“We recognize the challenges faced by many families in our region who struggle to find attainable housing and we are committed to working with our partners to identify and develop sustainable solutions,” says Craig Logan, Housing Executive Fellow for the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce. “We hope community members will participate in Attainable Housing Week 2023 to learn more about the housing challenges faced by the region and contribute to the development of solutions that will benefit everyone.”
