Upcountry Fiber to offer free digital literacy classes in Easley

Upcountry Fiber, the internet service provider created by utility cooperatives Blue Ridge Electric Co-op (BREC) and WCFIBER, a subsidiary of West Carolina Rural Telephone Cooperative (WCTEL), has partnered with Tri-County Technical College to offer free digital literacy classes covering computer and internet basics, along with cybersecurity education. This is the second class in a series offered in the Upcountry Fiber service area.

The training will be held on May 17 from 1-4 p.m. at Tri-County Technical College’s Easley Campus (1774 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC 29642).

Instructional topics include identifying and defining basic computer components, navigating a computer desktop, starting and shutting down a computer, along with creating, saving, opening and moving files.
