Research Analyst & Coordinator

This position will generally support the Research Department in ensuring the production and dissemination of analytically sound resources that present data and trends affecting South Carolina housing markets and the affordability, availability, and quality of owner-occupied, renter-occupied, and unoccupied homes. It will also assist with the publication of written materials, creation of forums or other public events, development of platforms for information sharing, and/or other forms of outreach that engage stakeholders and other relevant audiences. The position is integral to the Research Department and ensures that SC Housing has complete, accurate, and high-quality data from which to make internal and external policy decisions.
More specifically, this position will coordinate the production and dissemination of quarterly and annual reports required by statute as well as special projects using data from SC Housing, the United States Census Bureau, and other sources. These products will focus on the affordability, availability, and quality of housing as well as other issues related to housing in South Carolina. From a policy perspective, this position will also support the Research Department in the development and maintenance of a strategic plan for the agency and associated performance evaluation metrics.
Working closely with the Chief of Staff, this position will include substantial contract and project management of vendors, researchers, and other collaborative entities that engage with the Authority to produce sound analysis.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Agency Minimum Qualifications*:
A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, accounting, public policy, urban and regional planning, sociology, or related field of study and relevant experience in administrative/support services, research, statistical analysis and/or related experience.
*Candidates must specifically meet the Agency Minimum Requirements or an equivalent combination of education and experience to be considered for this position.

Ability to effectively analyze and synthesize quantitative data into stylized facts and communicate results in a timely manner is essential; foster a positive work environment that promotes continuous communication; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department staff, coworkers, external partners and customers with wide ranges of grant experience; exceptional written and verbal communication skills; must be detailed oriented and have the ability to maintain organized, accurate and updated files; ability to work independently and communicate effectively; ability to multi-task and manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and process time sensitive materials in a fast-paced environment; excellent project management skills applied across multiple teams.
Must be able to lift and carry files, books and reports weighing up to 20 lbs. Must be able to perform filing, desk work and operate general office equipment. Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged or intermittent periods of time with limited scheduled breaks. Employee must be able to perform these tasks with or without reasonable accommodations. Preferred Qualifications
A graduate degree in any of the above academic fields and at least one year of professional experience in project management within a complex environment preferred. Familiarity with specialized software for tasks including but not limited to geographic information systems, statistical analysis, economic impact analysis, data visualization, business intelligence, and/or database management is preferred.
