Jill Smith + Associates Counseling celebrates the grand opening of its expanded downtown Columbia office

Jill Smith + Associates Counseling — the premier counseling practice in the greater Columbia, S.C. region — proudly announces the official grand opening of its new and expanded office located at 1777 Bull Street in downtown Columbia. The momentous occasion was commemorated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community celebration.

The 4,600 sq. ft. historic building, nestled between the BullStreet District and Main Street District, was meticulously renovated to combine modern functionality with the preservation of its historical charm. With an increased number of counseling offices and additional parking, the new office space will accommodate a growing team of certified counselors while maintaining the high standard of patient care JSA is known for.

The counseling group’s first location opened in Lexington, South Carolina in 2003. Since then, they have served over 7,000 clients throughout the greater Columbia S.C. region.

Smith partnered with several businesses in the area to transform the new Bull Street location into something truly breathtaking.

“Our vision was to create a space where clients feel cared for and pampered. We want to elevate the counseling experience,” said Smith. “With a light and airy yet comfortable aesthetic, we were intentional in letting the therapy and self-care experience begins as soon as they enter the door.”

Smith worked with Architrave to update the interiors while keeping historical integrity, like the original molding details on the walls. Indigo Design + Construction managed renovations by adding more rooms for counselors. Brookegreen Landscaping beautifully transformed the front greenery that grabs the attention of anyone driving down Bull Street. Ellen Taylor Designs and Avanti Interiors brought to life the modern aesthetic and tranquil vibe.

The space includes an upstairs specially designated for family and children counseling. These rooms are a safe space for both children and parents, with more capacity for activities. Every door to counseling rooms includes a frosted center with a transparent outline that allows for privacy, yet the feeling of not being enclosed. Details like this were executed to elevate the JSA counseling experience.

 

JSA Celebrates 20 Years of Serving the Midlands

The grand opening ceremony also marks an important milestone for JSA, as the counseling practice celebrates its 20th anniversary. With lifelong learning and collaboration at the heart of JSA’s culture, the office has grown to 16 team members with over 70 years of combined experience.
