Clinton’s Rhythm on the Rails is Ready to Rock Clinton this Weekend
September 20, 2023Rhythm on the Rails is a favorite event for many in Laurens County and one that seems to mark the beginning of Fall. A lively weekend of music, good food, and fun activities is set to kick off on Friday as the City of Clinton launches Rhythm on the Rails, their annual fall festival in downtown.
Expressing enthusiasm for the upcoming festivities, Dianne Wyatt, Clinton Community Development Coordinator, looks forward to the event and the headline bands. “We are anticipating a sizable crowd on Friday night,” Wyatt shared. “We’re all geared up for a fantastic time and delighted to have the Swingin’ Medallions with us.”
In addition to the Swingin’ Medallions, Friday will feature ‘Clinton’s Got Talent’. Come Saturday, attendees can groove to the beats of the Silver Travis Band, the Rock and Roll Reunion, and the Cliff Wheeler Band. “There is truly something for everyone in our musical lineup,” Wyatt noted.
Road closures will encompass several key streets, ensuring a safe and vibrant festival environment. The festivities will unfold in the following areas:
- Broad St. from Florida St. to the Railroad Tracks
- East Pitts St. and West Pitts St. to Elizabeth St.
- West Main St. to Elizabeth St.
- East Main St. to Clay St.
- Musgrove St. to Enterprise St.
The parking lots on East Main St., West Main St., and North Broad St. will also be closed during this time. “Kids can enjoy the amusement rides and everyone can come together for a fantastic time in downtown Clinton,” Wyatt expressed.
All amusement rides will be complimentary for children, thanks to the festival’s partnership with CNNGA. Generous sponsorship for this weekend’s festivities comes from USC Union – Laurens location, the City of Clinton, and Laurens County.

Friday:
6:00 pm ‘Clinton’s Got Talent’ commences at the Depot

Saturday:

5:00 pm The Rock and Roll Reunion on the Main Stage
8:00 pm The Cliff Wheeler Band is the closing act on the Main Stage
