West Columbia City Council Invests in Sanitation Equipment to Improve Services for Residents

September 21, 2023

In 2021, the West Columbia City Council invested in new sanitation equipment to update and expand the city’s fleet. The new equipment includes a street sweeper, a one-arm bandit, a leaf truck, and other equipment that will help the city’s sanitation workers more efficiently provide essential services to residents.

“I’m so excited that this equipment is out on the street and the services are being delivered,” said Mayor Tem Miles. “Thank you to every person who pays taxes in the City of West Columbia for providing this additional equipment for our staff to continue to provide essential services for us all.”

The new equipment will help to improve sanitation services in West Columbia by:

  • Replacing obsolete equipment that could not be repaired
  • Expanding the City’s fleet to meet the needs of our growing population
  • Allowing sanitation workers to perform their jobs more efficiently

The city is committed to providing residents with the highest quality of services possible and the investment in new sanitation equipment is an essential step in achieving that goal.
