Clinton Police Chief Sonny Ledda Assumes Presidency of SCPCA for 2024

The recently concluded South Carolina Police Chief Association (SCPCA) Annual Leadership Conference, held from November 16 to 19, 2023, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, brought together police chiefs from across the state to address the challenges and opportunities facing law enforcement. Among the police chiefs in attendance at the conference was Chief Sonny Ledda, the newly installed President of the South Carolina Police Chief’s Association (SCPCA) for the year 2024.
The SCPCA’s Commitment to Leadership Development:
The SCPCA, a non-profit organization comprising police chiefs throughout South Carolina, is dedicated to the continuous improvement of law enforcement leadership. Recognizing the importance of effective leaders in today’s law enforcement landscape, the association focuses on enhancing the knowledge and skills of police executives through training programs and meetings.
Chief Sonny Ledda, Clinton Police Chief, and the recently installed SCPCA President emphasized the significance of the association’s mission in his address at the conference. He stated, “The SCPCA plays a crucial role in ensuring that police chiefs across the state are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to lead their departments effectively. Through collaborative efforts, we can strengthen our ability to provide the best possible law enforcement for our communities.”
In 2023, Ledda served as the Vice-President and his experience as Vice-President positions him well to lead the association in 2024.
The conference served as an opportunity for law enforcement professionals to receive updates from various agencies, training opportunities, meet with vendors in the exhibit hall and network with members of SCPCA from across the state. Also attending were Laurens Police Chief Keith Grounsell and US Marshall Chrissie Lattimore, past president of SCPCA and former Laurens Police Chief.
