Ag+Art Tour Comes to Laurens County
January 30, 2024Laurens County, SC, January 30, 2024 – The Laurens County Ag+Art Tour is scheduled for Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm each day. Laurens County will shine these during this time, as local farms and artisans open to the public.
The South Carolina (SC) Ag+ Art Tour began in 2012, coordinated by Clemson Extension, as a structured opportunity to invite visitors to see first-hand where their food comes from, watch artists in action, purchase something special, and learn more about rural life. This program has become the nation’s largest free, self-guided farm tour featuring local artisans and farms, attracting over 85,000 visitors. The SC Ag+Art Tour is recognized as a national example of rural revitalization, farm and art collaboration, farm experience, and agricultural education.
Visit Laurens County SC, www.visitlaurenscounty.com, an arm of the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce (LCCC), will host the 2024 Laurens County Ag+Art Tour as one location, in partnership with the SC Ag+Art Tour. Other County participants include: May 4 = Mccormick, May 11 = Abbeville & Aiken, May 11-12 = Lancaster & Sumter, May 18-19 = Bamberg, Colleton, Newberry, & Pickens, June 1-2 = Allendale, Clarendon & Kershaw, June 8-9 = Barnwell, Berkeley, Richland, & York, June 15-16 = Fairfield & Lexington, June 29-30 = Chester & Laurens.
“Participating in the Statewide Ag+Art Tour has been on my goal list for our County. We have some awesome rural farms and super talented artisans, and we can’t wait to show them off. With our recent team addition of a Tourism Marketing Manager, Christian Taylor, we now have the manpower to bring this vision to life,” said Amanda Munyan, LCCC President/CEO.
