Richland School District Two has named Jennifer Morrison the new Senior Chief Academic Officer.

“Jennifer Morrison embodies the essence of an exceptional educator. Her passion for teaching and learning is not only inspiring but also contagious. I am thrilled for our academic team and students to benefit from her extensive expertise and innovative approach to education,” said Superintendent Dr. Kim D. Moore.

Morrison joins Richland Two with nearly 30 years of experience educating students, leading and training teachers, and utilizing data to improve academic results. She is the current Executive Director of Secondary Education for Rock Hill Schools.

“I look forward to joining my new team, connecting with the Richland School District Two family, and serving our students and community,” Morrison said. “I am an educator through and through; I know this is the right work, at the right time and in the right place!”

Morrison has an Ed.S. and M.Ed. in educational administration from the University of South Carolina. She earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand, on a Fulbright grant. Morris is a National Board Certified Teacher.

Morrison’s awards include being named a Riley Diversity Fellow in 2016, Mid‐Carolina High Teacher of the Year in 2009, winning ASCD International Outstanding Young Educator in 2003 and being named Charlotte‐Mecklenburg Teacher of the Year Finalist in 2003.

Morrison is an avid gardener with a working knowledge of the trees, shrubs, and perennials native to the Midlands area. She and her husband, Darryn, live in Cayce, with their 90-pound Weimaraner, Win.

Morrison replaces Nancy Gregory who recently retired after nearly 40 years of service in Richland Two.
