Great Crepes & More Celebrates One Year of Sweet and Savory Success

August 19, 2024

A year ago, Jimmy and Kaleefa Neely fulfilled a dream when they opened the doors to Great Crepes & More on Public Square, bringing a unique and delicious offering to the heart of Laurens. Inspired by their travels to Florida and Rome, Italy, where they fell in love with crepes, the couple has spent the last year turning that passion into a thriving local business. As they celebrate their one-year anniversary, they reflect on the journey so far and share their excitement for what lies ahead.

“Our dream has become greater now that we see people truly enjoy what we’re bringing to the table,” said Jimmy. “Expanding our days, trying ourselves out during Finally Fridays, and catering have all been added since last August.”

The past year has been filled with memorable moments and community support. From the grand opening with Palmetto Brothers to a successful Mother’s Day and the excitement of the Freedom Festival, the couple has been overwhelmed by the love and encouragement from their customers. “The most impressive highlight for our business is the people that continue to show up, eat with us, encourage us, and bring family and friends to support and show us off,” Kaleefa shared. “We absolutely love it when we see that we’ve left a pleasant taste in their mouths.”

Great Crepes & More quickly gained a loyal following with their mouthwatering menu, featuring both sweet and savory options. The strawberries and cream cheese crepe has become a favorite among those new to crepes, with its fresh strawberries and house-made cream cheese filling. On the savory side, the steak crepe, seasoned to perfection and topped with a garlic parmesan sauce, has become the go-to choice.

As they mark this significant milestone, Jimmy and Kaleefa are not resting on their laurels. With a new alcohol license in hand, they’re rolling out an exciting new menu featuring mimosas, beer, wine, wine slushies, and specialty cocktails just in time for their anniversary week. Additionally, they are exploring the possibility of expanding their operating days and plan to continue to participate in local events on the square.

“Our long-term goal is to become a destination restaurant—a place where people intentionally set out to come to Great Crepes & More,” said Jimmy. “We want to provide a unique experience and great food that makes people want to come back and bring a friend or loved one with the assurance they’ll love it.”

Looking ahead, Jimmy and Kaleefa plan to keep the menu fresh with new limited-time offerings and crowd favorites. They’re also committed to changing perceptions that crepes are only for breakfast, emphasizing their suitability for lunch and dinner.

“Celebrating a year is a big deal for us. It’s a huge achievement for any business, but especially the restaurant business,” Kaleefa reflected. “We are extremely grateful for the support we have from our customers. Every day we open our doors, we are grateful and humbled to see each customer walk in and spend time at our place. We realize this would not be possible without them and want to say thank you. God willing, there will be many more years to come.”

As Great Crepes & More enters its second year, the Laurens community can look forward to more of the delicious offerings and welcoming atmosphere that have made the restaurant a local favorite. Whether you’re a loyal customer or a new visitor, Great Crepes & More invites you to celebrate with them and discover why they’ve become a beloved part of the Laurens dining scene.
