Laurens County Sheriff’s Office to Host Fist Bump Friday on September 27th

September 17, 2024

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is excited to bring back “Fist Bump Friday” on Friday, September 27th! This popular initiative, which began in September 2022, is designed to engage the youth and foster positive relationships between law enforcement and local students.

Deputies will visit schools across Laurens County, greeting students as they arrive with fist bumps, high fives, and words of encouragement. The goal is to provide students with a friendly interaction that starts their day on a positive note.

Sheriff Don Reynolds emphasized the importance of these interactions, stating, “We want to create positive connections with the kids early on. When they see us as approachable and supportive, it builds the trust we need to keep our community strong.”

The LCSO looks forward to meeting students and staff on Friday, September 27th, and hopes to continue this national event for years to come, allowing for more positive interactions between children and local law enforcement.

Be on the lookout for deputies at your school on Friday, September 27th!
